Various sized suites, with walk-in closet or wardrobe, half or full bath, individually controlled heat, AC, refrigerator, and/or microwave.
Options for one and two-room suites and separate storage areas are available.
We encourage you to bring your own furniture and personal items to make it feel like home. We’ll assist with putting things on the walls and help you organize if you would like us to.
Storage areas are available in the building on a first-come, first-serve basis.
There’s no out-of-pocket entry cost associated with Victory Place. No nickel and diming stress for the different amenities we provide. The all-inclusive monthly rate includes almost everything you will need, with the exception of your telephone. We encourage you to have a phone and there are different carriers with low-cost options to choose from. This will enable you to have a Medical Alert System (Note: Lifeline is free) which immediately notifies emergency personnel that you need assistance with a push of a button- peace of mind.
Some scheduled activities or excursions may require a small fee if you choose to participate.
Two to three daily meals are provided. Our cooks are passionate about providing top quality, nutritious and delicious meal choices and they enjoy catering to requests.
Cafe’s are open 24 hours for snacks and light meals.
Yes, we have ample parking in the community.
Yes, there’s no signing in or out and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
Although the staff at Victory Place cannot provide assistance for personal care or activities of daily living, we minimize the need for additional help with many of the quality amenities we provide. Should you find that you need help with personal care, you are encouraged to hire privately for this assistance. You may meet some of the home health aides that are already in the building visiting our residents and we also have lists available of people who provide these services. You can then hire someone you know or trust to make your life that much easier during the day. You have full control to schedule with the individual, pay them, and change the frequency you need them.
Yes, we have several ‘snowbirds’ who leave during the winter months and return in the spring. Living at Victory Place makes it very easy to close your door and leave for extended periods of time, knowing that your home is well cared for and your personal belongings are secure while you are away.
We know your pet is a valuable part of your family. Cats are allowed in your suite but they must stay in your suite and not be allowed to roam freely throughout the building. The care of your cat is your sole responsibility. A non-refundable pet deposit is required.
Our fully furnished guest rooms at Victory Place are the perfect place for friends or family to stay while visiting you at Victory Place.
We understand that making a decision to move is a huge one. We appreciate the stress of making that decision and want to help you make sure you are making the right decision when you are considering Victory Place. The guest rooms provide a great opportunity to try independent living at Victory Place. Come for a few days or a week and enjoy all the amenities we are proud to offer. We think you’ll soon be planning a more permanent move!
Victory Place is owned and operated by local residents, Kelli and Jon Poissant. Kelli is a physical therapist for over 30 years and Jon has owned his construction company in Plattsburgh for over 20 years. Backgrounds of health, wellness, and safety, along with building construction, and maintenance have helped prepare Kelli and Jon for this wonderful, feel-good endeavor of creating high-quality senior independent communities right here in Clinton County. We work hard at it and it shows!
We have been incredibly fortunate to have a passionate, dedicated group of individuals make up what we feel is a wonderful, cohesive group of caring team players. We all work very well together with a variety of experiences and knowledge that we bring to the table. Some of our employees have been with us since we opened and many have been with us for years. We have cooks, housekeepers, dining room attendants, and managers who all work together to make our communities and the residents who live here, the amazing places that they are!
Operations Manager – Barbara McNierney is a locally born and raised resident of Clinton County, New York, and currently resides in Plattsburgh, NY.
She offers 30 + years of experience combining Recreation based programming in skilled care working with the elderly, and customer care in the hospitality industry. Barbara’s experience, dedication, and energy creates a vibrant atmosphere, and a well-run home
